StooShe longlisted for BBC Sound of 2012

After their best single ‘Betty Woz Gone’ accumulated 100.000 views within a day of its initial upload, StooShe have become one of the hotly tipped new artists. With elements of TLC, Salt & Pepa, En Vogue, Jay Z, Odd Future and The Supremes, the group’s diversity  makes them stand out.

Chosen by a panel of UK-based tastemakers, StooShe have been chosen as part of the fifteen artist’s longlisted for the BBC’s Sound of 2012 competition. The competition chooses fifteen new artists who then become five, and from the five the ultimate winner will be picked. Both top five and number one will be announced in January.

Their mainstream breakthrough has been phenomenal thus far, and news of their inclusion in the BBC Sound of 2012 longlist further highlights this. With over a million online views split between their Youtube site, performances for iD, SBTV, MTV and Virgin, and also coverage from various publications such as The Daily Star, RWD, Top of the Pops and The Independent StooShe have surely earned their success.

Out to ‘deconstruct stereotypes’, StooShe’s cutting-edge choruses teamed up with their punch word play behind three incredible vocals, is exactly what the outgoing and witty trio need to fill the huge gap in the girl band market.

Currently travelling the UK in an electric pink logoed tour van, you may spot them in your town stop for a chat and congratulate them on their success thus far.
